The association Technical Cooperation ep2 (TeCo ep2) has published the ep2 Specification Version 7.4.0. The most important features are:
- ASRPD (Application Selection Registered Proprietary Data) final solution specified for card present and e-commerce (major change!) incl. adaption for the Swiss ASRPD ID =’0003′. This is a major change for Terminal Suppliers and Acquirers of the schemes MasterCard and Visa
- The CPACE Contactless Kernel specification has been integrated into the ep2 Specs
- Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for Card Present additional requirements specified. Please pay attention to the TNL’s 406 4th edition
- User Interface for Monoblock terminals was clarified for partial approval
- Transaction Sequence Counter sync mechanism reworked
- EV-charging solution defined for unattended terminals
- Several requirements changed for unattended terminals, e.g. reader types, receipt printing, PIN privacy
- Vending machine approval process completely reworked. There are now options for MDB and low price vending machine integrations
- ep2 ID process adapted to the new ep2 ID system
- <Country Restriction Bitmap> removed from TACD and TCACD
The new version 7.4.0 consolidates all the features and extensions of versions 7.0.0 to 7.3.0 and thus offers a solid development basis. This year Teco ep2 is working on version 8.0.0, that should be published in December 2021.
